You're too dumb to be effective at hating on a chapter. Quota sets itself. It's a formula. Number of PNM's signing cards divided by 9 chapters = Quota. Some chapters take more due to Quota Additions.

either that or they had an abnormally large number of women who only had Chi O at pref - so they automatically got chi O bids because they had nowhere else to go.

and also - everyone had the same quota this year and last year. 2022 & 2023 were the only recent years there was a variable quota where chi o would've taken less by force. all other years, quota is the same for everyone. and then some groups get quota additions either due to space within total being open or girls at pref who only have 1 house

Not actually correct about Quota Additions. Quota Additions are how every pnm who ranks both her pref houses, or only the one if that's all she has, is guaranteed a bid. The bid matching algorithm will give quota additions to chapters because of this guarantee and it's NOTHING to do with filling Chapter Total; that is reset immediately after recruitment by panhellenic and then chapters can COB if they need to. Quota Additions are not at all about building sorority numbers, they are strictly to give a bid to all pnm's who make it through pref and don't SIP.

the method by which the "formula" decides who gets the quota additions DOES have something to do with which chapters are at total and which are not. assuming every chapter has already reached quota, then the additions (when possible) are placed with the chapters who have the lower roster numbers headed into recruitment. that's one way parity is achieved among all groups & helps the system strugglers bolster numbers through formal recruitment. sometimes that is not possible if a PNM is going to be a quota addition and both chapters she has at pref are healthy and don't "need" the number to achieve total... she has to go to a chapter she pref'd, even if that chapter doesn't need the numbers. in that case, the "formula" tries to place her with her #1 ranked group on the MRABA, if at all possible.

Nope, that is not at all how Quota Additions work. PNM's can only be a Quota Addition for a house they preffed, and it is possible that some houses get Quota Additions while others still don't make Quota, which happens when the RFM numbers are off and should be adjusted for the next year's rush.

The priority for Quota Additions accounts first for the pnm's place on her two pref houses' bid lists and her ranks of those two pref houses, sort of like a mini bid-matching. Only after that are some pnm's placed based on chapter membership numbers IF there is a disparity in the first two factors and/or there is a decent number of pnm's to place as Additions.

Total is reset immediately after rush and COB can start to achieve equity.

you're responding to a lot of things I never said. please re-read my comment.
i never said a PNM would go to a house they didn't pref. you either incorrectly assumed or completely misread what I wrote. obvs PNMs who sign MRABAs can only go to houses they list. and of course all PNMs who maximize options will match to one of those 2 houses. understanding as fact all of those things, everything i wrote is accurate.

trust me I know what I'm talking about as I have actually run this process since RFM was instituted seen the outcomes probably longer than you've been alive.
there are a lot of intricacies to each scenario possible and I've seen them all.

in accordance with NPC policy, reset automatically occurs within 24 hours of the start of the academic term following the conclusion of formal recruitment. it follows a predetermined method based on what has been voted into the campus recruitment rules/bylaws (options include: average/median chapter size; midpoint method; largest chapter size - referred to as LCS; or LCS +up to 20 women). those 4 NPC approved reset options available to choose from - not sure what option State has in place now since the variable quota took place for all groups on State's campus in 2022 & 2023 in order to help establish AXO. the auto-reset option could have changed status-post the VQ years.

Ole Miss has and does do it this way. EVERY panehellenic does, using one of two Quota methods as needed. This is per NPC regulations. Ole Miss has used Variable Quota recently to even things out just like Miss State has used it to even things out. Variable Quota has a specific purpose and is not meant to be used longterm; it is used on campuses when a new chapter comes on to help them get established, OR when significant discrepancies in membership levels develop. After a few years of Variable Quota, everyone gets caught up and chapter memberships are equitable, so Variable Quota is no longer necessary and panhellenic reverts to 'regular' Quota, which uses the standard formula to make it the same number for every chapter. But there will always be some houses taking over Quota because of Quota Additions to guarantee PNM's a bid if they don't SIP.

ole miss used variable quota in 2023 & 2024 as deemed appropriate to help AXO establish the chapter there. but the VQ expired after that 2 year span as NPC only recommends it for that purpose for 2 consecutive years at a time.

fact is that ole miss needs more sororities to help decrease the the size of each chapter. pledge classes of 200 are unmanageable and create a whole list of issues. however, ole miss is out of space and so land-locked that there is no available "unused" space to build more sorority houses of the size needed on that campus. and, given the environment in oxford, no sorority will succeed without a house. so they've got problems...
