Every fall, some version of the same press release goes out from Greek councils across the country: "Fraternity and sorority members maintain a higher GPA than the general student body." And every fall, someone in the comments calls it propaganda. I was that guy sophomore year, before I joined. Then I joined, graduated with a 3.4, and watched my pledge class finish stronger academically than basically anyone expected - including us. So I've been on both sides of this argument, and I have some thoughts.

And honestly, I've been thinking about that question all week - not from the Panhellenic side, but from where I sit as someone who went through IFC recruitment and watched dozens of women go through theirs at the same time.
