How hard is it to get a bid?
by: PNMI have zero connections and am out of state. I heard you can’t get a bid from Pi Phi/DG without connections, is that true? The only girl I know in a sorority at Boulder is an Aphi and she kind of bullied my friends so I don’t know if I’d fit in with those girls. Some people have already gotten dms and I haven’t heard from anyone. I really like gphi, axo, pi phi, and dgs philanthropies and vibe but it’s feeling like I won’t even have a shot. I’m open to all of them and am excited to rush but would it be a waste of time?

You can definitely get a bid, but I wouldn’t get hung up on the ranks on this site. Gphi, AXO, Pi Phi and DG are all great houses, but it’s important that you actually go through rush and meet girls. You may end up vibing with a house that you don’t think you will vibe with. Even if you end up not getting/accepting a bid, rush is a great way to meet people!

While connections are helpful, it certainly doesn’t mean that because you don’t have connections you won’t get a bid. Just go into rush with an open mind, don’t rule out any houses and see rush through until the very end. Lots of women drop out of rush because they think they are better than the houses that they get back and then lose out on an amazing opportunity to be in a sorority. Good luck in the fall! You’re going to love Boulder and you will adore being in a sorority!

Pi Phi is the most difficult house to get into overall. Quality $ highly sought after. If you’re skinny , blonde & flashy IG your Ahi type.
We’ve just going to say there is one chapter that has a notoriously poor sisterhood & a very high % are rude, mean & unattractive bullies.
Go where you will be happy & can make friends DDD, GPB, KAT, AXO DG & XO have a large variety of fun, nice, smart & polite members. Top tier manners too.

Oos/ connections are not something to worry about. As long as you can carry a conversation and can be confident in yourself (it’s ok to be nervous just remember that you are awesome!), you will put yourself in the best position for rush. Don’t worry so much about specific sororities because you will find your home and everything happens for a reason!

Someone told me this when I went through recruitment and it really put things into perspective:
As nice as it sounds to have a ton of connections at a house, it can very likely do more harm than good. Not everyone wants to be judged for how they were in high school and if half the sorority is from your area this is bound to happen. Even if you don’t think there’s any bad blood, it’s never good to count on a connection for a bid. It feels scary going into recruitment knowing no one (trust me, I did it) but you get to start with a fresh slate! Either way, there are pros and cons to knowing people and going in blind but you will end up where you’re supposed to. Good luck!!

this but also keep in mind that Rush is super competitive at CU because there are only 9 houses total. houses that are mid tier at cu could be top tier any where else. if you keep an open mind and resist the urge to drop out during recruitment you are likely to find a house that’s a great fit for you
