Brunettes at bama
by: okSo I know at bama majority of the girls in sororities have blonde hair or highlights. I have dark hair & Im a little overweight. I workout everyday & am trying to cut down but I’m nervous that I won’t get into sororities because 1. My looks & 2. My grades are not the greatest (not terrible). If any girls in sororities can give their input on this that would be greatly appreciated.

The blonde look is stereotype that’s not actually true. If I’m being honest though, it will definitely help for rush if you lose a little weight, if you are actually significantly overweight. Don’t starve yourself or anything but looking healthy is a good thing for rush. Try to be a little tan for rush (not orange though). Try to get your grades up this semester.

I don’t have a 3.3 but there are legit reasons as of why I did not do well freshman year would there be any way to tell the chapters? My test scores are good I promise I’m not dumb

I think you can attach a letter explaining why your grades were so low freshmen year when you register for rush. And alums can include it in your recs to help you. However, having below a 3.3 will probably get you cut from houses like AGD and AXO. How high are your test scores?

Is the letter from me or someone at my school? and i have above a 30 combined and i got a couple perfect scores on some sections

My house (which is an OR so they know more girls rushing off the bat cause they’re all southern) saves grade exemptions for girls we already know and want. There are not an unlimited amount and there are girls coming through that actives have known for years that are gonna get the grade exemptions before randoms. Not really fair but that’s how it goes.
