I totally see the appeal of axo and phi mu and why they are generally considered top (more so for AXO). Both are popular during rush (even with phi mu being more polarizing) and are very put together and they have a high achieving type of PNM that they appeal to.
I genuinely don’t see what makes DG as high in the rankings as people keep putting them. They aren’t bad, but they’ve been completely stagnant the past few years (so I call total bs on anyone on here saying they’ve been trending up). PNMs don’t dislike them so I think that puts them above DZ and Theta who’ve had a rough rush the past two years, but I didn’t hear any PNMs who were EXCITED about them and really wanted to go DG over comparable or “better” houses.
