All the affiliated houses here plus Sig Ep, ATO, and Phi Psi and maybe a few others are very strong nationally.

SAE and Sigma Chi are the only ones that are strong all over the US; lots of other very good fraternities but these two are in a class of their own

I kind of hate to admit it but that's pretty much true. They're hardly the only ones worth joining by any means but they are the only ones that don't have a week region. Obviously they have individual schools they are weak at like everyone else, but there'a no major area where they aren't strong.

Both are great choices here.

Really it's very parochial to say that any house is good nationally. Every campus is different and no house is good everywhere. Even if you say good in the west coast or good in the SEC, that is an opinion and isn't true for all the schools. People just try to promote their own houses with a stupid question like yours.

When in doubt, google it. The link I posted below is from the Daily Beast and it is a list of the best fraternities, nationally, as of 2012.

In the south, the only area that really matters for fraternities: SAE, SX, EN, KA, Phi Delt, KA, Kappa Sig

I'd say Phi Gam, ATO, Pi Kapp and Pike are pretty strong Southern powers too.

agree, nations do not matter much. The only thing that matters are the strong SEC fraternities DKE, KA, Phi Gam and SAE

There is no such thing as ranking nationally. House strength is very much from campus to campus. But go ahead and list your own houses on here and have fun pretending.

rankings have nothing to do with the rankings at any given school, and you can't honestly argue that there aren't differences in prominence nationally. If you buy into ranking houses at individual schools, you can't say making broad national tiers is unreasonable. Obviously you can't apply the "national" rankings to any individual schools, and you could probably debate them endlessly.

No such thing as national rankings for fraternities or sororities if you're talking about popularity. You can look at number of chapters and rank that way. Or amount given to a national foundation. Or number of initiated members. But popularity is what these idiots are looking at. SAE and SX are top tier some places and have been kicked off for low numbers other places JUST LIKE all fraternities (and sororities).

Pledge where you'll be happiest for 4 years.

If you are conflicted, go with the house that is more prominent in your hometown. Don't look to greekrank to suggest which house is more prominent!
