Carrollton, Georgia isn't a huge college town, but the University of West Georgia has a Greek system that covers a solid range of organizations across multiple councils. You've got IFC fraternities, Panhellenic sororities, and a strong NPHC presence — which is pretty typical for a mid-size public university in the South. The system isn't massive, but it's not tiny either, and the chapters that are here tend to be genuinely active on campus.

On the IFC side, you'll find chapters like Pi Kappa Alpha, Kappa Sigma, Sigma Chi, Sigma Nu, Tau Kappa Epsilon, Alpha Tau Omega, Chi Phi, Kappa Alpha Order, and a few others. Panhellenic includes well-known nationals like Chi Omega, Kappa Delta, Alpha Xi Delta, Alpha Gamma Delta, Phi Mu, Delta Zeta, and Sigma Kappa. NPHC is represented by several of the Divine Nine organizations, including Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, Iota Phi Theta, Alpha Delta Sigma, Sigma Gamma Rho, and Zeta Phi Beta — and NPHC culture at UWG carries real weight on campus.

UWG is a regional university that draws a lot of commuters and students from the Atlanta metro area, so the campus social scene operates a bit differently than at a flagship like Georgia or Georgia Tech. Greek life is a meaningful part of campus culture here, but it's not the only game in town. That said, chapters do put real effort into philanthropy events, step shows, and Greek Week-style programming that gets attention across the student body.

Housing is more limited than what you'd see at bigger SEC schools — don't expect a Greek Row lined with massive chapter houses. Most socializing happens through events, campus spaces, and off-campus gatherings rather than live-in chapter houses. Recruitment for IFC and Panhellenic chapters follows fairly standard processes, with formal recruitment for sororities and a more informal open recruitment setup for most fraternities. NPHC intake follows its own separate process, as it does at most schools.
