As a former AGD, I can honestly say joining this chapter was one of my biggest regrets. I joined expecting sisterhood, philanthropy, and lifelong friendships. Instead, it felt like an even more toxic version of high school.
If you’re not part of the executive team or one of the established friend groups, don’t expect your opinion to matter. You can volunteer, offer to help, and show up consistently, but unless you’re already in the “in” crowd, you’re invisible.
The chapter constantly talks about inclusivity, but that wasn’t my experience at all. It often felt like image mattered more than actually making every member feel welcome. New members who don’t fit the existing social circles can easily end up feeling like outsiders.
The double standards were exhausting. Certain members were criticized over social media posts or expected to follow rules that others seemed to ignore without consequences. It felt like the rules depended on who you were friends with.
The social scene was equally disappointing. It often felt more focused on popularity, partying, and hookups than on building genuine friendships or supporting one another. If you joined hoping for real sisterhood, don’t be surprised if you end up feeling alone.
I’m sure some people had a completely different experience, but this was mine. Looking back, I wish someone had been honest with me before I joined.

as someone who was in chapter and dropped after a semester i can back this up. yes of course some girls are nice but it was so incredibly clique. no matter what i did i couldn’t form any true friendships and was ostracized because i wasnt “cool”. i wish i knew this before pledging

agd is not a negative space. Yes it’s cliquey but there’s cliques everywhere. Incoming exec looks promising and the girls who I have spoken to have been nothing but kind. Last time AGD was brought up in Greek rank this much was during HAF’s time who as we know is an icon. AGD must be doing something right…

I wonder how long it will take for them to delete this post...The fact that they haven't proves that they simply don't care that their members feel unwanted and undervalued. I would have hopped that exec would be making an effort to change the narrative, but instead GB is vlogging...

Yall r giving them so much attention. GB prolly doesn’t even have to do any marketing cuz you guys are doing it for her. It’s funny when you really think about it because if you genuinley thought this way about agd you would have left quietly rather than posting anonymously for attention on Greek rank. GB def can improve but she’s a first year with zero experience. Let people experience things to themselves

Sitting here reading some of these replies is honestly disappointing. The point of my post was never to bash one specific person. Yet everyone seems determined to pin everything on one individual when that completely misses the point.
I’ve seen what goes on behind the scenes, and I’ve watched people blame others for speaking up instead of addressing the actual issues. For the record, I left AGD a long time ago. After talking to many current members and hearing that the same problems still exist, I felt like someone needed to say something.
The reality is that my experience, and the experiences shared with me, were not positive. There is very little equality within the chapter. If you’re not on exec or part of the “right” friend group, your voice doesn’t matter. Your so-called sisters judge you for everything you do, gossip behind your back, and tear each other down instead of lifting each other up. Half the time you’ll see someone you spent four years in the same sorority with, and they’ll walk right past you like they don’t even know you.
From the outside, everything looks picture, perfect. But behind the scenes, it often feels like a performance. There are cliques, bullying, and a culture where people are more concerned with appearances than genuine sisterhood. There’s a reason you see the same small groups posting together over and over, but outside of mandatory sorority events, many of those relationships don’t actually exist.
If this post upsets you, maybe ask yourself why. The solution isn’t attacking the person who spoke up, it’s asking why so many current and former members have similar things to say.

If you left agd a long time ago, wouldn’t your issue be with previous leadership, not current? And if that’s the case, why bring it up now? Just seems weird to be airing out old laundry when it’s not even relevant anymore.

The AGDs in the replies saying this post is attacking GB are completely missing the point. Instagram is the public image AGD chooses to put forward, and right now it's the same girls and the same friend groups being posted over and over again. That's a choice.
This isn't about attacking GB personally. She's only going into second year, so she's continuing a culture that was already there. The problem is that this culture of exclusion has become so normalized within AGD that people genuinely can't see it anymore. The fact that so many people immediately got defensive instead of acknowledging the pattern proves the point.

Last years ec was by far the worst, this year things will definitely get at least a bit better

ill be honest. i’m in a different sorority (not going to say name) and of course there are friend groups. but in agd it’s a completely different story. only a select few are accepted while it feels like the others are there for numbers sake only. gb and the rest of that group only post about inclusion when it benifits them, and exclude 99% of the time. this is why EVERYONE drops
