What are Ranks Based On?

Almost every day I see a new fraternity or sorority ranking and I’ve always wondered what criteria is used to determine the groups ranking. Can anyone fill me in?

doesn’t rly matter but the sororities are always based on conventional attraction. the frats are usually based on connections to said sororities
