Honestly, joining greek life has been the best thing i did since coming to Pitt. this is especially because a lot of parties r closed. you def get higher social standing, but it’s not a need if you don’t want to join.

Greek life is growing at Pitt. Sororities are becoming much more selective and have been growing in number for years now. Sadly due to lack of space, it’s unlikely more sororities will come to campus causing selectivity, and the number of unmatched girls, to increase. From the time I was a freshman at Pitt until now 4 new fraternities have came to campus (SX, TX, Asig, LX) and more are planning to establish in the coming 4 years. The amount of guys involved in Greek life, while growing, is not proportional to sorority growth or the number of new frats. While selectivity remains relatively unchanged, having more fraternities has increased the fraternal endeavor to attract the best PNM’s/maintain chapter size. Chapter size in turn varies anywhere from 10-120 brothers.

Sorority rush is getting competitive as hell. Frats not so much.

I love greek life at pitt, genuinely nice people and a good community

I like Greek Life at Pitt. Makes the school feel way smaller. Fun events and a lot of good people.

Greek life doesn’t even matter at Pitt. It is such a small percentage of the entire population. It’s not very fun unless ur in a top organization (which barely means anything cause greek life here is so irrelevant) and even so ur just seeing the same people over and over. I would suggest joining a better and more meaningful club or sport or something. Don’t waste your money like I did.

Greek life could be better but the boys don't wanna try and the girls are lazy
