It's so weird how not transparent boulder panhel is. Every other school discloses info. on pc sizes, gpa, philantrhopy money raised etc. Boulder panhel sucks.

Not necessarily every other school. Schools do that when they need to justify having Greek orgs.

I agree, I just know there are a lot of angry moms posting about cu panhel on facebook. Some of the SEC schools post greek score cards and they definitely don't need to justify greeklife. It would just be nice if cu panhel was more transparent? Also, it would put a lot of these stupid rumors to rest!

Most of the pnm moms just want answers. If panhel would be more transparent they wouldn't have to field so many phone calls...

SEC and other large public universities constantly need to justify Greek life. The houses are palatial on some campuses and take up a lot of real estate, often with financial assistance from the universities. Behavior is often out of hand on a large scale with SA and substance abuse and hazing. Many fraternities don't have a chapter GPA above the all men's average or even a 3.0. And sororities and fraternities are always accused of being elitist, exclusionary, and highly favored as a whole system.

When a lot of students go to a school mainly for football and greeklife, and can actually get in with a high school GPA of 2.8, the school needs to make SOME kind of statement of accountability.

That's why many have publicly available scorecards.

but in the interest of transperancy why not make information available? is there any downside to this? panhel would have to field a lot less questions. i think cu boulder panhel is in violation of a lot of things (ie- posting meeting minutes, chapter gpa posting etc.)

For schools that have them, Greek Score Cards show the last semester's GPA by chapter, usually broken down by returning actives' GPA and new members' GPA. GPA's by all-sorority/all-fraternity/all-women/all-men/all-undergrad are also usually presented for comparison. The reports sometimes show philanthropy dollars raised, chapter honors and achievements, and disciplinary status.

They often also show the actual number of returning actives and new members by semester, but not always. But they never ever show recruitment return rates, quota, quota additions, snap bids, cobs, drops, graduations, social calendars, NONE of that. These seem to be the hot topics, but that info is, and should remain, chapter and panhellenic business only.

honestly, anything from panhel would be better than nothing at this point.
