A chapter that doesn't match to quota during the bid matching process can offer snap bids to get up to that number before bids are distributed on bid day. Snap bids are not that common, the entire recruitment algorithm is designed to try to prevent any chapter from having to snap bid, and quota is not set until after all pnm's have signed their cards, so if pnm's drop out of the process then quota will be lower. A house that dropped you before pref is not going to turn around and offer you a snap bid. Snaps are not a way for a pnm to get a 'better' house. Pnm's who still have houses wanting them back should focus on those chapters and give them a real chance. Don't drop counting on a snap bid as a back door.

only tri delt can snap bid usually. at other schools it’s probably more common since the pc’s are more even but the gap is so big they’re the only ones who can

If all those pnm's who have tri delt as a choice would stick together and join together (instead of dropping out) tri delt would have a great nm class. It's your nm class that is key to your sorority experience, that's the make or break.

Snap bids are not what any chapter wants to have to do, it means something has gone wrong with their numbers and they ended up short in bid matching. Snap bids, if necessary to help a chapter reach quota, are issued before bids are opened on bid day. There is no snap bidding after that.

COB depends on the Chapter Total Membership that panhellenic sets after bid day. Any chapters that are below that number may COB, if they wish, to get up to that number, but it is usually only by a few and they already usually know who they want, IF they even want to offer more bids. COB is NOT a secondary rush; it does NOT exist as another chance for pnm's who didn't like the way things went, it is strictly for the sorority chapters to help maintain equity among the memberships. Don't count on a post-rush open bid after rush.

Also, pnm's should definitely not count on spring rush. Very few houses offer spring rush and/or cob. Also, it's just a different, sort of dilluted, experience in the spring imo.

Agree, really hoping that tri delt and all the sororities make quota. It makes the Greek system at Boulder much stronger when all houses are strong.
