Manhattan College - MC Overview

  About Greek Life at MC

Manhattan College is a small Catholic school in the Riverdale neighborhood of the Bronx, and its Greek system is on the smaller, more intimate side — which honestly makes sense given the overall size of the campus. There are a handful of organizations here, including Delta Kappa Epsilon, Alpha Phi Delta, Phi Delta Epsilon, and Sigma Delta Tau, spanning both fraternity and sorority chapters.

Because MC is a smaller school, Greek life here doesn't dominate campus the way it might at a big state university. It's more of a close-knit community within the broader campus community. Chapters tend to know each other well, and the social scene that comes out of Greek organizations is pretty tied into the general flow of student life on campus rather than being its own separate world.

Rush and recruitment at a school this size tends to be a lot more personal than the massive formal recruitment processes you'd see at larger schools. You're more likely to meet members through classes, clubs, or just hanging around campus before you ever think about pledging. That informal connection is pretty common at smaller institutions like MC.

Manhattan College has a strong tradition around service and community involvement, which aligns with the school's La Sallian Catholic values. Greek chapters here tend to reflect that culture, with philanthropy and service playing a real role in how organizations operate and present themselves on campus.

Don't expect a Greek Row or chapter houses — that's not really part of how things work at MC. Chapters are based out of campus spaces, so the experience is more integrated into everyday campus life rather than centered around a physical house. It's a different setup than what you'd find at schools where housing is a big part of fraternity and sorority culture.
