I was honestly surprised that the embezzlement scandal never got more attention than it did. Did KD ever get those millions back after the lady went to jail or were they just out all that $$?

2.9 MILLION lost to embezzlement between 2012-2019 is absolutely a huge deal. Google it. The lady was sentenced to 4 years in FEDERAL prison and ordered to pay back every penny she and her daughter stole. The renovations they just completed should’ve been done 5 years ago. But when their House Corp lost nearly 3M in funds, they couldn’t afford it. Which is why dues went up $1k per semester per girl a couple of years ago. They had to fund the reno somehow … and the lady who stole the $$ sure can’t pay it back while she’s rotting in prison. And will likely never be able to repay it. So that’s basically almost 3M lost forever.

Maybe that’s not a big deal to you… but ask any parent who helps pay sorority dues & they’ll tell you that having their money STOLEN absolutely IS a huge deal.

That’s like making fun of someone who got their card stolen and saying they can never move on with their life. Like girl they took her to court, recouped all the assets they could get from her and have clearly moved on. It was a serious crime but time for everyone to move on with their lives. The KD chapter and members were the victims. It's the type of thing that could happen to any srat or frat chapter when they don't do outside auditing. One bad individual in a position of trust. The same thing has also happened in this university - including illegal redirection of scholarship money, duplicating travel expenses, misuse of state procurement card - just google all that. What goes on at this entire school? But you came here anyway, move on.
