Not a big deal?? 2.9 MILLION lost to embezzlement between 2012-2019 is absolutely a huge deal. Google it. The lady was sentenced to 4 years in FEDERAL prison and ordered to pay back every penny she and her daughter stole. The renovations they just completed should’ve been done 5 years ago. But when their House Corp lost nearly 3M in funds, they couldn’t afford it. Which is why dues went up $1k per semester per girl a couple of years ago. They had to fund the reno somehow … and the lady who stole the $$ sure can’t pay it back while she’s rotting in prison. And will likely never be able to repay it. So that’s basically almost 3M lost forever. Maybe that’s not a big deal to you… but ask any parent who helps pay sorority dues & they’ll tell you that having their money STOLEN absolutely IS a huge deal.
