First of all, EVERYONE thinks they come from an extremely competitive high school. With the possible example of the girl a few days ago who attends an IB school that kicks you out if you get a grade below a B, most of us go to the same kind of school. Second, in order to do well in college you have to rise above the competition. In order to do well in rush, you have to have risen above the competition in high school. That's why we look at unweighted grades and also ACT scores. If you have a 3.2 or 3.3, but got above a 32 on your ACTs, you will be a serious contender in my house. But if you have a 3.2 or 3.3 and an ACT in the mid 20s, well, you just didn't do that well in high school. Sorry to burst your bubble, but this is a good time to work on your study skills because you will need to improve them to do well in college.
