I'm so excited to go through recruitment in a couple of weeks, but I have one big concern. I know that I will be very disappointed if I end up getting a bid to a lower tier chapter. Do you have to accept your bid? If I don't accept my bid, can I still rush at a top chapter later in the semester? I'm sorry about all the questions, but I just have really high standards and expectations, and this whole process is very confusing.

I'm going to be honest with you - pretty much EVERYONE feels this way at first, going through recruitment. If someone said they didn't I wouldn't believe them. Every PNM wants to rush the most popular house. But trust me, whether you get a bid to a low tier or high tier house, you will be happy in the end. You'll be disappointed at first, yeah, but not for long. Eventually you'll realize the real reason for joining a sorority - not the parties or the "popularity" or whatever, but to be a part of a really great circle of girls. And every house on this campus really does have great girls. People say "trust the system" because it works for the most part. I have had friends bawl their eyes out on bid day because they got a bid to a lower house... fast forward a month or two and they were completely in love with the house. Recruitment only shows part of the picture. No matter what house you get a bid to, stick with it and I PROMISE YOU you will love it. Maybe it'll take time, but you will.

Pretty much every girl going through recruitment is going through with an open-mind, which is the best thing you'll ever do. your preconceived notions may be wrong or proven wrong (i know mine were). i joined a house i didn't think i wanted before i came to mizzou and i can honestly say, it was the best decision of my life and i couldn't imagine myself in any other chapter!

Wow! This website depicts all the houses in a negative way. Being greek at Mizzou is nothing like this. People don't walk around talking bad about other houses or tiers, etc. Every house has something good to offer. Can everyone try to be positive on here until rush is over. Like my grandma used to say "if you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all". And PMNs remember, being Greek regardless what house is so much better than NOT being Greek.

So..you have really high standards and expectations. So do we. What is your GPA? What is your high school involvement? High standards are great, but hard work, kindness and a great attitude will serve you better throughout recruitment AND life. No one likes a B!$@h, dear. Good luck.
