what houses usually spring rush?

This year the houses that SHOULD have spring rushed (under total) include: Theta, AXO, Tridelt, KD, DG, ZTA, GPhi, Phi Mu, Aphi and Sigma. Houses that did are: KD, Phi Mu, Sigma and APhi. Theta, AXO, DG and especially Tridelt could've definitely used the extra members but people attach a stigma to spring rush (ie only bottom tier does it.) Realistically, almost every house could use a couple new members from COB, some are just too snobby for it.

Fall informal takes place after recruitment. It normally happens a couple months into the school year, so around the end of September or October. It is the same thing as spring just in the fall. Also houses that do COB are not always "bottom tier" houses! There are some middle tier houses that do informal.

If DG "should" have cobbed they would have. If they are under chapter total their nationals literally forces them to take a spring pledge class- no exceptions whatsoever... Even if it's just one spot. This year they just didn't need to, other years they have! It's nbd

Yes! Many people email the houses recruitment chair giving a brief description of themselves and saying why they want to be part of a sorority! Just make sure your personality shows through! The Greek Life office will post who is doing informal on their website when they get notice from the chapter!

I'm in one of the houses you listed and we are over 300 girls so I'm not sure where you're getting your number from. Yes some of the houses are probably under but I know for a fact my house isn't because we were going to do Spring but we had over 300 girls so we couldn't

$100 says op is an alpha phi. Those houses didn't cob because they had enough girls get over it

Haha no. There are several houses with less girls before cob than the houses that did cob, it happens, get over it. I love cob babies 🤗

Many of the member totals fluctuate during the year because of students spending a semester abroad or out of town student teaching. Because those girls return the next semester there is no reason for a house to do informal rush. Plus some houses are on such strong financial footing because they rarely go below quota that it is not worth the time or effort to try to fill just a couple of slots. So no one else should pretend to know who "should" COB because the decision is based on more than numbers. For example, I can't imagine my house doing informal because we just don't do it. Plus there's the stigma.....

Agree it's more than numbers, the ones with bigger houses have pressure to stay at max quota even if they're only a few girls short. So there's no relevance in calling those girls bottom tier when most houses actually are short

If a sorority has more than 300 girls in their chapter, they cannot do informal (which was a rule just made in the spring before spring informal started). And many of the houses listed did fall informal rather than spring.
