Is it really a waste of time to rush as a junior even if you have friends who can pull for you?

I have heard of Juniors rushing, but that better be some darn strong pull.

I'm hoping it doesn't come down to that but if it does hopefully t'll be strong enough if I don't get a bid in the spring/no houses do spring rush

Being in a sorority is super important to me so I definitely will give it my best! If COB doesn't pan out in the spring then I will try FR. (And if that doesn't work then it's just probably not meant to be)

If being in a sorority is so important to you, why didn't you rush this past year?

You did rush as a sophomore and had to drop mid way through(didn't drop bc I was released by a certain house or anything recruitment related)?

You work really hard to establish real friendships with girls in ALL sororities, because you never know who will be doing COB/Spring, and those are your best options if you're already a sophomore. And if neither of those are available/work out, then you can try FR as a junior, but you will need impeccable grades and involvement on and off campus (and preferably some leadership in those activities), have 2+ recs to every house, have actives that you are REALLY good friends with pulling hard for you in the houses (and alum support/pull always helps too), be gorgeous, well dressed, outgoing/fun/sociable/sweet/genuine, and have great people/conversational skills so you will be memorable in a positive way. You need to make sure your reputation is spotless with regards to guys and alcohol, etc. Also, you absolutely have to be open minded to ALL houses-every single one-and be willing to give whomever gives you a bid a chance (and be grateful that they gave you a bid). Going through FR as a junior is VERY difficult, and your options are going to be extremely limited, so make sure to follow the advice above so you will stand out enough for a house to want to take a risk on bidding you (knowing they will only have you for 2 years) vs a freshman that they know will be there for 4. Good luck!!!

Thank you for the advice! I will keep all of that in mind! I am really trying to get my name out there and make friends and be super involved so that I can maximize my chances. Hopefully COB pans out but it's nice to know that there's a glimmer of hope that I can still find a home if not.

Do y'all really think there's a chance I could pull off getting a bid as a junior if COB doesn't work?

Can you get into an "old row" house as a junior. I'd be happy to get into any house but like I'm just curious

If I can't do COB and want to rush still should I go to preview and spring teas?

There's always SDT, they do spring recruitment.

I actually did check out SDT and it didn't feel like the right fit.
