new tiers 2015

After bid day, we all know this is what the new tiers are leaning towards
Top: AXO, AGD, DDD, KD
Upper Middle: Kappa, Phi Mu, ZTA, Pi Phi
Middle: XO, Alpha Phi, ADPi,
Lower Middle: AOPi, DG, GPhi
Bottom: DZ, Theta

Wow. Way early. Some houses definitely have some buzz and some definitely don't but let's wait just a bit. Haha.

But it do look like KD restored some of its past luster. A shiny new object on the corner prob helped a bunch. Is this part of the Chi O fail perhaps?

It may be the case for pc15 but not the entire chapter's reputation to rise or fall because of one good or bad pc. at least not yet

Sorry, it really does. Especially when the classes are this massive. I'm sorry if your house has moved down because of the class you took, but unless you graduated from Bama back in the 80s, you have already changed your mind about how you feel about some of the houses.

I think DDD did a great job and should stay above Phi Mu (but they had a good rush too). I agree with moving APhi down. Actually I think ADPi definitely did much better than APhi and really did better than XO too. I've been really impressed with them and this PC!

do any of yall know if pm did well with top birmingham girls? the ones that i thought were top and thought would end up at pm, went other places. even new row. what did pm focus on. I was just surprised and mean no offense because i do not know who they got or what they went for. for all i know the birmingham area pnms i have in mind were released by pm on grades. any ideas?

Alpha gam did really well, I can see them going up but not above phi mu. Zeta and a phi kicked major butt, theta and g phi both also did very well, and I still haven't heard much from AOPi or DG.... On this logic I'd go (no order in tiers)
AXO Phi Mu AGD DDD
KD Kappa Zeta
Pi Phi Alpha Phi XO ADPi
AOPi Theta DG
Gamma Phi DZ

Kappa, Chi O, and PM were not that great and coming from an old row house, please get over your Alpha Phi hate. They had a GREAT PC and got the they wanted. They are above GPHI, DG, Theta, and DZ and for you to think otherwise is pathetic. What's going to be your excuse for having them this low if their overall GPA goes above a few houses?

Yall will recover. There are plenty of good girls still in the house and in the pc14 and pc15. You are still "old row" and nobody can take that from you. Everybody is still impressed. But the facts is what the facts is. The chapter is in a little bit of a trough at the moment and several new row houses are really strong now.
No, those new row houses will never by Alabama "old row" and your self image really can stay good. They were awesome when you were in the house.

Budweiser invited the chapters who have been at UA in excess of 50 years to be sponsored by them and they would be called "old row." DZ and Zeta declined b/c their National Exec said they couldn't be a part of something sponsored by Budweiser.
In the scheme of things, this is relatively new.
Historically, old row is frats here prior to 1920, and Sororities who were on campus and stayed on campus prior to 1950

But I don't think anyone cars about old row, first circle or new row or whatever anymore except Alabama in state snobby people. The post was not confused bc old row was in quotes. The point was that xo has a mom or alum on here who was doing some spin to keep xo on top and presumably only based on tradition which is old row type snob code. Who gives a f anyway.

No, I am sorry but I do not know what Alpha Phi's new pledge class is like, but come on.. DG had a better, well rounded and pretty pledge class compared to DZ and Theta.

Why does everyone love KD and always puts them at the top of the sorority lists?
I'm in fraternity that doesn't regularly hang out with KD, but we've swapped with them and I've gone to several KD date parties, and honestly I'm not really really impressed. Is it self ranking? A lot of their girls are uppity, rude, and what are they even doing to stand out above AGD, AXO, DDD, PM, etc..?
Look I don't want to hate KD because I have friends there, but it seriously bugs me that this site constantly rates them highly when the vast majority of people I know (even the guys I know in Old Row fraternities) wouldn't think to put them there if asked?

As a rising senior, I am in another old row house... I know everyone still "hates" on DG being new, but you have to give them credit for all of the accomplishments they have fulfilled in four years. They have definitely earned there spot in middle tier, even if it is lower middle tier; so far all they have done is improved overall each and every year.

No Theta is not "that bad". They are a great house. You are reading a bunch of self-ranks and personal preferences by a group of people that are mostly focused on Alabama snob factor perspectives. Theta is just not one that the Alabama in-state girls usually want, but what they want is what people in their social circles and in their relatives' social circules expect them to want.

No, Theta isn't "that bad". Yes, they might be "bottom tier" at Bama, but they took quota plus and seem to be really happy with their new girls, which is awesome! At many big schools, the "bottom tier" chapters do not make quota-often they're way off-and it's obvious that they're "bottom tier". But since all of the sororities at Bama are so amazing, you could take our "bottom tier" chapters and they would easily be "top tier" somewhere else. So I think Theta is doing a fine job!

The low ranking of Theta and others is being done by the "new" groups.
It used to be Gamma Phi and DG who did this, but they seem to have settled down and it is APhi who has lost it.
The 10 sororities who have been here in excess of 60 years are not going to fail. It just is not going to happen.
AOPi and Theta have been a constant presence since the lat 60s and also have a very strong alum base in the area.
Those of you who bash alums obviously don't have a strong helpful group. I thought the same, but is the 4 years I have been out I see a different side.
