Lack of recs and sub-par grades will get you dropped. Rushing as a non-freshman MAY get you dropped. If you have recs, and you have an excellent GPA, and you are a freshman, in order to receive a bid you must maximize your options. Do NOT drop out if all of your "favorites" release you!

Looks matter, but not in the sense you may be thinking. First impressions are important and it's very important that one dress appropriately for recruitment. It's outlined in the Greekchic, as to what attire is appropriate.
Dress appropriately, dress for your body type and remember you're going to be around us(girls), not guys.
If you're concerned about weight, try working out and getting into shape. If it's your skin, see a dermatologist or try out a couple of Neutrogena products. Style your hair in a way that flatters your features and wear makeup to enhance your features.
We aren't basing our judgments on looks. But if you're sloppy looking or wearing something inappropriate, you'll stand out in a bad way
