Gpa cutoff getting more strict

Older alum here who rushed in the 2010’s. When I went through recruitment most houses published 3.0 as their gpa cut off with some top grade houses publishing 3.2. Now I see soo many comments on here saying 3.5?!?! I went through recruitment with a 2.9 and ended up getting a mid tier sorority (not one known for grades necessarily - though I did end up graduating with a very high college gpa). I experienced heavy, hard cuts following ice water teas, but then got every house on my list back for the next 2 rounds until I selected for pref.

I know I was the exception even then, but are girls with lower then a 3.5 experiencing cuts from most houses???
