number of chapters. Ole Miss and Washington and Lee both have a relatively small number of chapters and are considered among the best in the country. Percentage of student body and tradition are major factors. If number of chapters was a big factor Illinois would be considered the best Greek system, the Midwest would be the center of Greek life, and we'd all be wearing hoodies with big letters on them.

I looked it up, Indiana Universiy has the biggest and most competitive greek like. Followed by Alabama. Then I looked up the ranks, very diferent.

The reason Indiana is so competitive is because they do quota by how many beds are available in the house... So a lot more girls get cut than at Alabama

has the most sororities of any school, but that's because their bed quota severely limits chapter size, and I don't think Indiana's Greek system is the largest by members, chapter (Indiana) or percentage of students in Greek life.

Meant to say Illinois for most overall Greek chapters.

Actually has the most NPC chapters now -- 21 counting DPhiE, which is colonizing next spring. Illinois and Penn State are tied at 19.

I meant most total chapters. A strong Greek system usually has to have a strong IFC as well as NPC, and the question asked about Greek systems.
