how hard is it to get a bid?

I'm from Chicago with no Greek affiliation in my immediate family or grandparents.
However, I'll have a rec (or two) for each house, a 4.7 w/3.7 uw gpa, student council president and treasurer, nhs, a few other small clubs, 2 years of a varsity sport, and a job, on top of a super long list of volunteer work. Money is a non-issue, as is which particular sorority. What likelihood is there of me getting a bid ?

most definitely get a bid. As long as you maximize your options (which shouldn't be too hard with your gpa)

There is no reason you shouldn't get a bid. Remember to be sincere and friendly during rush and try to connect with those you come in contact with. Good luck!

Does it help a lot to go to Preview ?

helps, but lots of girls don't bc they're OOS, haven't decided to rush, etc. It would've helped, but all the sororities still have plenty of spots
