worry about bids

Im coming from NY and I've been told by some friends down at UA I would really like OX, I dont know anyone in OX and I cant come down for parties till I move in. What are my odds of receiving a bid if they guys like me. Is there still time for me to make a good impression if im only going to meet the brothers when i move in?
