by: Guestis it frowned upon to talk about random things at rush? like if a conversation is sidetracked and you start talking about a tv show or food or puppies or anything random like that... is that weird? or should it be like very formal and almost like an interview

No, it’s not a structured interview.
If the conversation flows into random topics naturally it probably means the conversation is going a lot better than if the girl rushing you has to keep asking you the “interview questions”
These short conversations are basically just seeing if you’re compatible and likable. You should feel like you could be friends with the girls.
