I’m going to be honest here... to join a top house you really need to be the whole package. I’m so tired of seeing posts like if you are pretty you’ll be a Phi Mu, if you’re smart you’ll be an Alpha Chi, if you’re a partier you’ll be a Kappa.
The girls in the top tier houses ( DDD, Phi Mu, Alpha Chi, Kappa) ALLL have beautiful, smart, fun girls.
Just saying this because Greek Rank makes the houses seem so black and white.... if you are competing to be in a top house with 2000+ girls you really need to be well rounded - which includes being prepared

This is accurate. Now kappas’s not just taking random, underwhelming girls. Most girls that pledge kappa are connected to the chapter and are cool and funny.
But if you think about the “whole package girls” that you know and that we’re in your rho chi (smart, pretty, put together, involved, usually kind of peppy), they weren’t going kappa.

yep... Really hard to believe others don’t see it! Average grades (below average until this semester), average looks, average sisterhood (allegedly), below average involvement, but top social. Doesn’t add up to me

To be honest, I feel like Kappa is just top because it's Kappa. Kappa is the same way at A LOT of schools, especially in the region...Kappa is so strong nationally and it is almost rare to find a bottom tier Kappa house. Kappa's just have a specific personality it seems like. Kappa's are confident, social (sometimes too much), but also classy and academic. You don't have to be the prettiest girl to be a Kappa, you just need to look put together, Kappa's ride on their personality more so than looks and I honestly think Kappa is one of the best chapters nationally bc of it. (and no I'm not a Kappa...but a lot of my family have been!)

Kappa isn’t a group of bad or undesirable girls but these are two of the last words I would use to describe them on this campus.

Kappa is not a top house in this region at all...
It’s bottom at auburn, bottom at South Carolina, bottom at UNC, bottom at FSU, bottom at UF.
Not top at ole miss.
It’s top at LSU and UGA.

I can tell by the cut-throat responses that Kappa must be a top house. iow, methinks the ladies doth protea too much.

She is the leader of The Pink Ladies, which is a group of girls consisting of Rizzo, Jan, Marty, Frenchy, and Sandy. They are each dating a member of the "T" birds (aka SAE) and routinely hang out as a large group at the Frosty Palace. At their sleepovers they smoke, and drink alcohol even though underage. they can be seen sporting their Pink Ladies jackets and flashing their kappa hand signs at busy intersections.

True but I definitely would say this is applicable to most houses. Definitely PM, AXO, XO, DDD, KD and KKG. all of those houses have areas where they could improve, but for the most part this is representative of these houses.
There are well rounded girls in every house though and looks alone, grades alone, connections alone, etc won’t bring you a successful rush.
