will i fit in here?

Haven't officially decided on going to Alabama yet. I like the school spirit, Greek life, and all my visits here have been pleasant. I'm from a suburb of NYC and idk if I'd fit in here, in ANY sorority, or even as a gdi. While I was raised with manners and etiquette, I'm definitely NOT a southern belle by any stretch. I kinda like the slower pace of life, and I was always stressed out in hs up here. I really like the university, but I'm not sure I could come here without feeling homesick. I'm also kinda worried that this awful winter we've had up here is clouding my judgment and making me lean more towards southern schools that might not actually be the best fit for me. My family is technically Catholic, but my parents and I don't really go to church all that often. Will that hurt my ability to fit in? I know this isn't really the right place for this type of post, but the GR page for Alabama seems far more active than the other "student forum" type sites I've looked at. Just want to get the perspective of some current students. Thanks :)
