derby days
by: HahaI’ve been hearing that some of the events for derby day objectify women. I can’t imagine SX could get away with that in this day and age. What are the events?

Also in a sorority not participating and they didn’t tell us why, although I can kind of guess

Ok here. There are a few reasons why fewer and fewer sororities participate every year.
1. We just had greek week and a lot of people don’t think sigma chi should be able to take up another whole week of our lives.
2. Events are questionable. There are other ways to raise money besides bull riding and a water balloon contest, which will basically amount to a wet T-shirt contest.
3. Many of the events are not philanthropy based, like the house decorating competition. Sororities have to buy massive amounts of craft supplies that get thrown away at the end of the week.
4. Sigma chi has never supported our philanthropy events.
It is just not worth it for a lot of sororities.

If that was actually true then you would already know from your sisters and wouldn't be on here.
