Wait and get your grades up. All houses want members who show that they care about their grades. It’s already competitive for those with a 3.8 and above. Many houses cannot accept PNMs with a GPA below 3.0, even if the PNM is a legacy. Even if they could, they have so many to choose from with high GPAs. Work hard and get your grades up and try going through.

I rushed last year with below a 3.0 and had heavy cuts after IWT. I stuck with it and ended in a mid-tier house I love. If your heart is set on OR or top tier, you will be disappointed but if you are open minded you may find a place if the rest (looks, activities, personality) is good. I felt rushing as a freshman was my best opportunity for Greek life and I love where I landed. BTW my grades improved significantly this year!
