sophomore rushing fraternity tips?
by: don't worry about itCurrently a freshman at UA and would like to rush a fraternity. I greatly regret not rushing last fall. I am looking for tips on rushing. How successful are sophomores when rushing? When and how should I start contacting fraternities? I made the deans list and was a varsity athlete in high school but also no one in my friend group is currently in a fraternity so I basically have zero connection. Also I'm from out of state but still from south of the mason Dixon line if that matters. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Definitely make friends with members of fraternities. You can even go to their national websites and submit a rush contact form. Some of the local chapters may even have one as well.
You can even walk by their house and if you see some guys standing around outside, introduce yourself. Ask if the rush chairman is around.
The worse case you register for rush when it is opened up by IFC and attend the various open house events next Fall. Though many houses may have already filled their pledge classes by then.
