did i just ruin my chances?

I am OOS but not OOR and I go to a nice public school in a very nice area. I wouldn't say we are a "feeder school" to Bama but at least 25 or more go there every year.
Long story short.... I was shopping with some friends on Friday and 2 of them were shoplifting. I had no idea but I was the one who was driving and security stopped us, called the police. Since the stolen stuff was in my car I got arrested too. My parents are lawyers and I got out and no charges will be filed aganist me.
By the end of the day yesterday most everyone knew/talking about it/making fun.
The worst part is the vast majority of my recs are coming from teachers and friends parents. Some of which are Bama Alums!!
I just worked so hard in high school and everything else towards my resume is great.
How badly will this effect my rush? I feel like jt is over for my chances for any house

To tell the truth. Maybe. That is a pretty nasty thing to have attached to your name.
These ladies writing tour recs, do they know you well personally? Good enough to know the real you? Maybe wait a few months to get them to write them. Who knows what new scandals can happen.
But yes you could of gotten your self already in the "no" pile.

That's the worst part. Myself and 2 other girls had no part in it. My Dad (lawyer) assures me that since I didn't do anything wrong, the other girls confessed and I was released without even being processed, that legally I am fine. He is even working on getting the mug shot expunged forever.
I've been on SGA for 4 years, gone on 7 mission trips and a few other major accompliments. I don't care about old/new row but I would be a liar if said I'd be heart broken if I got released or ended up with 1 or 2 invites after IWT.
The lesson here is be very careful who you hangout with.

To the above person. Aphi and zeta do have other honors college students. Dz gphi and aopi wouldn't take a girl who alledegy shoplifted

Definitely not a troll. Alabama has been my top choice and depending on my latest test scores I will qualify UA scholor or presidential. So honors college is pretty much set. Yes there are more important things going on. Just the fact that first period today, my favorite teacher who approached me about writting a rec and is an Alabama Alum made a comment about my "wild weekend" shook me.
