texas girls

How do OOS girls, particularly Texas girls typically fair during recruitment? Do all OR houses take Texas girls, just not very many compared to Instate girls? Are Texas girls seen as less-than even if they are the ~perfect pnm~?

I am a rising senior thinking about Bama along with several of my high school friends. Each of us know a couple actives at about half of the houses, both OR and NR because a lot of girls from our high school go to UA

I'm from Dallas and am having a decent Rush. Nice mix of OR and NR houses. So far, mostly interested in a NR house. We'll see.

Sort of depends what part of Texas and what your background is like. Same for Georgia, actually, which is a funny pattern.

If you are from a good neighborhood in a city (think Highland Park or River Oaks) and/or you attend a private school downtown then you are more likely to end up in old row. If you are from a further out suburb (think Flower Mound or The Woodlands) then you are more likely to end up in new row. Absolutely NOT a hard and fast rule but just something I've noticed over time.

Texas girls do wonderfully in recruitment and are not seen as less-than. Every house takes plenty of us!

Hi, I'm an active in an OR sorority at Alabama. I had a great rush, I had two OR houses and one NR house for my pref night. I had a high GPA and come from a nice suburb-not one one that's previously been listed. I love my sorority, and there are several others from Texas into sorority! I think the pnm's from Texas should be having a good rush this year, as long as they have a high gpa and recs. If you don't have connections at alabama, try to make some this year!
