what can theta do to improve>

Theta at Bama is not really at the bottom. Some target them based on the old house alone. Another reason ties with what you said, Theta is #1 many other places OOS, so Theta has always pledged lots of OOS, which used to be no-no and used to be a sign of weakness. All houses at Bama are great. Theta is a great strat.

You are in your sorority at Bama for 4 years. Possibly less if you study abroad or graduate early.
You are in your sorority in an alum capacity for DECADES. Probably more than 50 years. Considering how strong, awesome, and big every house is on this campus, it's not super unreasonable to take national strength into account.

If you come into it with an open mind, EVERY single house at this campus is strong and will give you the best four years of your life. However a lot of girls want to think about what their sororities can give them for after the four years and still take advantage of what it brings them.

Some truth to bring #1 in lots of other places. I know someone who went Theta just to be in alumnae group in her city where Theta was the best.
