Thoughts on AOPi's recruitment video? Personally I thought is was a little dull (not terrible though), felt like they were almost diliberately trying not to feature specific girls so everything was just a giant group shot.

Fair representation. Just gives a little idea of what they look like and stuff. Not sure it will create much excitement for them, though. Glad they put it together and posted it. Time to start getting fired up! Let's see some more!

y'al realize that they paid College Weekly to have them film their "recruitment video" and have them write an article about it

Generally that's how these things work. Sororities get someone to come in and film their video, and then they pay them to compensate for their time.

It was ok. They actually have some much cuter girls who weren't featured. Interesting they chose a girl from Alabama to talk, going back to their roots as an Alabama sorority? They've taken a lot more oos in last 2 years.

I agree, it represents their cool, relaxed style. It's awesome that College Weekly did their video... I don't I've seen them at Alabama for any other sorority but I could be wrong. The video was calm, yet intriguing. I like it, I thought it was a great representation of those girls.

Short and sweet which was nice, glad it wasn't super long because a lot of the videos of last years seemed lengthy. Liked the change of pace. They def could've featured prettier girls, although they were all cute. Pretty good recruitment video overall

they're trying too hard to be more like a mainstream sorority that you see featured on old row throwing confetti and stuff. at bama they're known for being laid back and chill not the type to dance around waving their flags in the air. it's obvious they're trying to move up but it's kind of like they're taking one step forward and two steps back. kind of like the "alpha o" nickname rebranding - no one really buys it. it's one thing to make a hype video but nothing about the video was really that exciting. it was pretty mundane and awkward in my opinion.

I'm not even an AOII and I know that alpha O is a national change, not just Alabama change.

Agreed-bad excuse homie. It was an awesome video, try harder with a way to knock them. They tried and it showed.

no what i meant by provide proof was that provide proof in terms of AOPIs nationals mandating a change to their nickname. thats literally the first time ive ever heard someone justify why AOPI is trying to rebrand as alpha o. and i've also heard from various people that AOPI had a strict rule about the use of "alpha o" and only let bama AOPI use it for greek week bc they're such a large chapter.

something doesnt add up... feel free to provide links and tangible evidence to back up your claims.

Buddy, stop obsessing over their nickname. The video was decent who cares what they call themselves

No one's obsessing over a name. But everyone besides AOPis think it's weird that all of a sudden they're trying to create a new nickname for themselves. And then someone said it's being implemented by their nationals. No one's obsessing lol we just want to have this explained.

I know you all hate old people using this site, but 40 years ago we had a song on our campus by the AOPis that mentioned they were the Alpha O's from their heads to their toes (to the tune You're A Grand Old Flag). Yes, the term Alpha O's was familiar back then and in usage, remembered like cheerios/cheery-os.

Did you even see the same 2017 video I viewed? AOII's video look is far from mainstream with NO common-video sparkle confetti and NO common smiling and waving identical blondes in similar dresses. AOII is cleverly playing-up the fact their new home, built on their old lot, is next to Bryant-Denny Stadium. In previous years, Bid Day has also begun with Bid Opening at the stadium and The Run by each group's new members afterward. So don't dis what you can't kiss, it's all good.

I liked it. It highlighted that they had girls of all shapes and types and was simple. All the girls weren't carbon copies of each other. It didn't seem try-hard, which is something that always makes me laugh about those recruitment videos.

We love it so who cares if other houses don't. That's why you are where you are. Love yourself and leave my house alone, besides it's for the PNM anyway.
