getting cut by which house stung the most?

Had four strong recs to pi phi including a family member (non legacy though) and an alumnae advisor. Said alumnae advisor told me I definitely had the resume, recs etc to go all the way. They dropped me after IWT. Didn't have a great party there but was pissed anyway. Looking back the advisor had no business telling me that.

Believe it or not I was most sad about DG. They dropped me right before pref and I had really good recs and a legacy and another family member who was also a dg but not one that counted as a legacy. I really liked how they were well rounded but more on the chill side than some of the other sororities known for being well rounded. I was surprised because i knew I'd most likely end up in a lower mid-bottom house because I was out-of-state and didn't have twitter in high school and didn't start an insta until around prom season which made me not have a lot of followers which some other girls did going through recruitment, so I had a bad social media presence. I did end up in my second choice though and I love it!

I absolutely loved Pi Phi the rounds I was there and was so upset after getting cut. It was difficult to make it through my first party that morning. To this day I have no idea why I was cut. I had great conversations with the girls there, like best out of all the houses, had multiple solid recs, a good GPA (3.7), inolvement, etc. I'm OOS. I ended up pledging an Old Row house and although I love the friends I've made there, the house is too focused on Alabama girls for me to feel like I completely fit in. I think I would've fit in better at Pi Phi.

Probably alpha gam. I really felt like I fit in there when I went and loved every girl I met. Ironically, my best friend outside of my current sorority is an alpha gam, but that also made me realize why it wouldn't have been a good fit(not in a bad way, but it wouldn't have fit as well my current house). Ultimately, I'm very happy where I am now.

Reading these and some other firsthand stories, do you show that houses make mistakes during rush

Haven't done it yet, but this year I'm going to sit on the sorority side of the process. And, feeling a bit nervous about selecting PNM's

Yes, girls are cut from certain houses for obvious reasons.

However, I think there's plenty of stories of girls who were dropped, who would've been a good fit and good sisters at various houses.

Clearly, mistakes are made. And, I think some houses do a better job than others during rush.

Feeling the pressure to get it right "from the other side "

I loved Pi Phi and my mom was one! I loved Pi Phi, had great convos, felt a connection and then got dropped. I had over a 4.3 GPA too. I kept feeling like a mistake was made but I doubt it! Love my house though and now, wouldn't want another one! Good luck PNMs! Just know it all works out for a reason!

Thought I had really good convos at ADPi kappa and tri delt but going into philanthropy I got cut... zeta and a phi cute me and I was crying my eyes out... I loved dg the whole time and going into pref they cut me which made me almost drop from rush also was cut from aopi going into pref

Phi mu dropped me after third round and i was devastated. I was so sure i'd have them again that I cried all of bid day lol. Honestly, i still think i would've been a really good fit there, maybe better than where i am now friends-wise, but it's cool
