different school legacy

by: pnm

If my mom, her mom, and her mom, so three generations before me were all Tri Delts at UGA, does that increase my chance of getting Tri Delt at Bama?

Yes, that's a strong legacy and I'd say pretty much any house would look at you more. However, if you don't have good grades, which tri delt does, than forget about it. Also must have good speaking skills. Being a legacy doesn't guarantee you a spot at any house it just means they'll take a closer look at you and take you more into consideration.

Unlike other sororities, Tri Delt national does not require legacies to be extended any additional courtesies. They leave it up to the chapter to decide how to handle. With your legacy being at another school, do not count on that helping you at Bama Tri Delt. There are sooo many legacies that come through and plenty of them are from Bama. Those chapter legacies will only get a little extra consideration if they are otherwise desirable PNM's; legacy may tip the scales a little bit in their favor. Maybe.

They have already looked into your background, social media, other connections, etc. and have made some early decisions about their level of interest in you. The rest will play out when they meet you.

One word of advice to all PNMs: Be very open to all chapters. You don't want to send a vibe of only interested in your legacy chapter. You may fall in love with another one and they need to know it.

There's really no such thing. Tri delt only counts moms and sisters as legacies.

I'm not sure why PNMS keep sharing so much personal information on here. It makes it super easy to find out exactly who you are and in my opinion, it doesn't look good to see y'all on here

It doesn't really increase your chances because they weren't here at Bama. There are more legacies to most houses than their are spots in each pledge class, so being a legacy doesn't carry much weight anymore.

Unfortunately they are known for cutting legacies.

This is probably because there is a poor understanding of what a legacy is. Each sorority has different definitions. Tri delt only considers moms and sisters legacies. So if your grandma was a tri delt but your mom wasn't, you're not a legacy.

My suggestion is to remove this post. It will be easy for houses to figure out who the triple DDD legacy is and know that she wants her legacy house. You could get dropped by everyone after the first round.

That could be due to the fact that tri delt is huge nationally and probably has a ton of legacies coming through.
