This four by four idea is a good one and that ranking is probably the consensus. That said, the bottom four are like the top four at many schools and they are very good houses with lots of awesome girls and the perfect fit for a bunch of people.

Speak for yourself. I put KKG at the bottom of my list. And I actually really liked AOPi. Recruitment is not a one-size-fits all thing. And I'm from Birmingham.

Sorry but no there are not 4 tops/bottoms.
Bama has lots of great women in good chapters. The OP has it right. You can argue "which three" are top but the rest are set.
TOP:
AXO, KKG (or another depending who u are), PM
Majority Mid:
XO, KD, AGD, ADPi, DDD
PBP, ZTA, APhi, GPhiB, DG
Bottom/still good (it's Bama)
Theta, AOPi, DZ

I think there's definitely room for four st the top. KKG and XO are both great houses that draw slightly different girls, so just include them both.
A lot of campuses have a "Core Four" and "Elite Eight." I'd say Bama's are:
Core Four: AXO, KKG, XO, PM
Elite Eight: the four above + DDD, AGD, ADPi ....
Who should get the last spot? PBP, ZTA or APhi?

Core four is not a high- end term. It's a made up name by some chapters at UT that want to separate themselves from the bottom

Agree that ADPi is way out of place in the OP. On the post that swapped out Chio for KKG in top three, I could go either way on that one. Let's settle this by having a top and bottom four:
Top AXO/PM/KKG/XO
Bottom DZ/AOII/GPhi/KAT
Everyone else is different flavor of middle and I would say several new row are mixed in because the OOS is making a big impact.
