by: ...PNM's- please please please don't rush if you KNOW you can't afford it or if you are planning on dropping a few weeks after getting your bid. You could be taking someone else's spot who CAN pay for it and who plans to stay all 4 years. It's really disappointing to see these girls drop for those reasons when rushing is already so competitive and a house keeps you over another girl who is just as good as you but you planned on dropping and she could've been in your spot. Not trying to be rude, it's just a little selfish so know before hand if you really can and want to do it.

not only does it take away a bid from a qualified girl it also messes up the sororities' bid lists. every sorority has a quota they need to make for recruitment and when a girl goes all the way through recruitment and then drops the night before bid day, it messes with the sororities lists, making them either short on their quota or forcing them to give out snap bids.

This is true. I'm not in a sorority because it was just too exspensive but just living in tut I've made SO many friends. And because I'm in tut, most girls here are in a sorority so I still get invited to their swaps and everything and you meet so many people through that so I agree. Although I wish I could be in one, it works out for me great this way because I still get to do some of the things they're doing minus all the money, commitment, and time it would consume from me. Just my opinion though. Don't take someone else's spot if you aren't going to continue with it!
