expectation
by: .Those of you that pledged a sorority: was it different than you expected once you were in the sorority or was it what you expected from your perspective through recruitment?

For me, the house I pledged wasn't my top house. But, through recruitment, the vibes of the houses showed through after rush was over. The nastiest and fakenes of some the houses is very prevalent after everything is done. For my house, the vibe was about the same, average, very chill. But, be VERy careful to not look through the reputations of the houses as you are rushing because I know so many girls who regret who they pegged after bid day

I was disappointed through rush and didn't end up where I "thought" I wanted to be. In the end, I love my house and sisterhood is fabulous. I'm one of the pnms who believes it all works out for a reason! Just try to avoid getting caught up in the hype of some of the "top" houses as they're not all that different and you're better off being in a great house with a close sisterhood!

Love my sorority but had a rough start because I joined a very southern sorority and all of the girls from Alabama were already best friends going in and were very exclusive. All nice enough but they weren't really looking to make new friends. Love it now tho and couldn't be happier, the vibe I got from them from rush was exactly the same as it is now and it's definitely where I beling

My house was my third rank on pref night. Needless to say, I was slightly disappointed on bid day to open my card and have it read the name. I often imagine myself, and how my sorority life experience, would differ if I had gotten a bid to my first or second choice. The only reason I kept my third choice is because I liked the girls, however now that I am a member they're incredibly shallow and I find myself contemplating dropping. Ironically, I ended up at a house thats "top tier", whereas my first and second choices were not. Its not all about being at a "top" house.
