serious question

Probably for the reason everyone else does.

Money. Same reason anyone does anything in life.

No one knows why except for the G Phis, but I would think it's because almost every other house is and why would they not? I would bet that the person who said they would respect them more if they hadn't didn't give them a chance during recruitment because she perceived them as unworthy because they weren't in the machine.

Damed if ya do, damned if ya don't. I'm sure they weighed the reasons to or not to. There will always be two sides. And people who will hold it against them for either decision.

I personally hate the machine because it takes away autonomy from the houses and I recognize that because I'm in a machine house. I wish the machine didn't exist, but since it does, I'm saying that it's better to be in than out.

Probably because they didn't want to be the last ones so now that's theta. Watch how quickly theta's rep is going to drop even more than it already has.

The sad thing about the machine running things is that it is so reminiscent of Chicago's political corruption, Miami's Vice, or Las Vegas sin city reputation. It is just the opposite of the honorable and steadfast reputation that the South has always had. It just makes me a little sick to think we're all governed by a political machine that cloaked behind a wall of secrecy.
