Good or Good for You?

Here is the little secret PNM should know. All the sororities at UGA are GOOD. There isn't really a "bad" one. I get you came here to get informed and get some insight into what sororities you should focus on. You can look at these rankings as a way to do that. But keep in mind do you even know what they base the ranking on?
It is subjective and that is too be expected. The real question is not which sororities are the "best". The real question you should be asking is which sororities are the best for you.

The sororities at UGA each have their own culture. You get some sororities who are similar and could be grouped together. But when you see these lists generally those at the top are ones that tend to have wealthy families and are more preppy in style. Now if you fit that profile that is fine. Join them and you will enjoy it. But if you don't you likely will not get invited there or will get cut. But again if you are not really that type of person that is probably for the best.

You want to go to a place you fit in. You want to find your people. That is the point of rush. It is not to try and join what is perceived to be the "best" sororities. Once you join a sorority you will never give any thought to these lists. They don't matter because the girls in the other sororities are kind of irrelevant to you at that point. You are having fun with your sorority and too busy to worry about if Phi Mu is at the top or not.

Even the sororities that get ranked at the bottom are good. Don't let this board fool you. The people who say they are not well those sororities may not fit them. But that does not mean they are not good. The sororities that usually get ranked at the bottom are the newest ones (except SDT) and they are smaller than the other sororities. But they are on their way up. DPhiE and AXiD both now have houses on Milledge and both fixed up their houses.

If you are smart go into rush not looking to join the "best" sorority. Go into rush looking for the place you fit in best. I guarantee you that you will be happier and have fewer tears if you follow this advice. Anyone who disagrees is just doing it because they like making lists.
