Southern vs NonSouthern Srats

Nonsouthern/ oos srats:
These srats have 50-60% Atl area girls and 30-40% oos. They do not favor true southern GA girls bc they are run by Atlanta area girls. They think they are better than the rest of GA. It’s fine bc the rest of GA does not think ATl area is Southern anyway.
Don’t believe me? I’m in one of these and I’m not lying. I hate my srat and am dropping bc the ATl girls are aholes. I believed that they were Southern and was lied to.

no yeah, but also every sorority has girls from all over! But some are definitely more GA/south based, but overall I feel every chapter has a good amount of nothern/OOS girls!

And by "southern" what do you mean? Do they just sit in rocking chairs in sun dresses drinking sweet tea? C'mon like 80% of UGA is from Georgia. So not a stretch to say the majority of girls in most sororities at UGA are from Georgia. So, by "southern" do you mean not from Atlanta? What does that mean?

Why don't you just say "rural" or "small town" instead of "southern". "Southern" applies to anyplace in the south including Atlanta. It is not one size fits all.

Is being from only an hour away (any direction) from ATL considered “northern”? I don’t think so! Does voting liberal mean that you’re “northern”? Again, I don’t think so.
Stop with this north/ south thing! Just find the chapter in which you are comfortable & hope that they are also comfortable with you, and want you!

50% of uga students are from the metro Atlanta area. That includes inside Atlanta itself and all of Fulton, Gwinnett, Cobb, DeKalb, and Forsyth counties. 30% are from the rest of Georgia and the remaining 20% are from everywhere else. The sororities reflect the same percentages. This whole thread is useless and irrelevant to pnm's. If you don't want to be with Atlanta kids you are at the wrong school.

This is wrong. 80% of the girls at UGA are from GEORGIA. So that means most of the girls in all the sororities are from GEORGIA. I have lived in the south my whole life and I don't get why some people feel like they are more southern than others. If you are from Atlanta you are not really southern. Define "southern" for me? Is it that you drink sweet tea, eat grits, and live in a small town? Southern can be defined a lot of ways but lets keep it simple if you were born below the Mason Dixon line you are southern even if you are not from a small town or are not conservative. This is really the dumbest type of post there is.
