They can all have met quota but still be different numbers based on add-ons. To accommodate PNMs who don’t suicide but aren’t high enough on either sorority’s list. In the olden days they would just get cross cut. Now they “add on” spots above quota as needed.

Snap bids get a sorority to quota and can only be done on bid day. Snap bids are only for houses that do not make quota. Add ons are to accommodate girls who do not suicide but would otherwise be “cross cut” because they were too low on both of their pref house’s lists. These are also done on bid day and no one knows who is an add-on. Not even the girl. And COB is for chapters who are not at chapter total and they can do an open rush forum to get their total size to that chapter total number. I heard chapter total is 354 after recruitment this year.

Quota Additions are not done on bid day, they are part of the bid matching algorithm and are just regular bids. The sororities that have more pnm's at pref know they are going to take quota additions.

If you are interested in COB you can fill out a COB interest form with panhellenic or reach out to individual chapters. But understand that chapters under Total are usually only under by a few and they already know who they want and reach out to those girls. Or they don't care about filling them at all because honestly COB can be a pain. If you know sorority members or girls who just joined then work those contacts.

The "extra", which are Quota Additions, have nothing to do with early grads or drops. They are how the guarantee works that every pnm who ranks both her pref houses gets a bid, even when it puts a house over quota.
It is true that there used to be no such thing as quota additions and girls who went all the way through pref and would have taken a bid to either of their pref houses were cross-cut out of the process because quota was quota and that was that. Can you imagine? So much better now.
COB addresses early grads or drops, depending on where panhellenic sets Chapter Total, and happens after bid day, never before.
