The College of Idaho - CI Overview

  About Greek Life at CI

The College of Idaho is a small liberal arts school in Caldwell, Idaho, with a tight-knit campus where pretty much every organization has a noticeable footprint — and Greek life is no exception. The school runs both an IFC and a Panhellenic council, covering a handful of chapters on each side. On the fraternity side you've got Delta Tau Delta, Kappa Sigma, and Sigma Chi. The sororities are Gamma Phi Beta, Kappa Alpha Theta, and Kappa Kappa Gamma — all three of which are well-established national organizations with strong presences across the country.

Because C of I is a small school, the Greek system is relatively compact. That said, being smaller means chapters tend to be closer-knit, and members usually know each other well across organizations. It's not the kind of sprawling Greek Row you'd see at a large state school, but it's genuinely woven into campus social life in a way that's hard to ignore when you're actually there.

Rush and recruitment at a school this size tend to feel pretty personal. You're not walking through massive events with hundreds of strangers — it's a more informal process where you'll likely run into the same people multiple times throughout the week. Chapters put real effort into getting to know potential members, and that goes both ways.

CI doesn't have the kind of sprawling, standalone chapter houses you'd see at big state schools, which reflects the overall scale of the campus. Social events, philanthropy work, and chapter life tend to happen in spaces shared with the broader campus community. Philanthropy is a consistent part of what the chapters do — national organizations like the ones represented here typically have signature causes they support throughout the year, and that carries over to the chapter level at CI.

For a school of its size, having six active chapters across both councils gives Greek life a real presence on campus without dominating it entirely.
