Loved every second of it

TCU rush is hard and really competitive! I wish I would’ve know this coming into TCU. Sorry to break it to you but legacies don’t matter and sometimes who you know doesn’t help either.

Sorority rush is very competitive. Only about 60 percent get bids. Guys are more chill. Very cool Greek life though.

Formal fall recruitment for girls is very selective and stressful, but there is no hazing in sororities. Fall recruitment for frats is very chill and relaxed, but hazing is a major problem in about half of the frats. However, TCU is becoming increasingly strict with frats.

It seems like Greeks run the school and social scene, but in reality only about half of the school is involved in Greek life. I believe about 3/4 of girls that go through formal recruitment end up in a house. Somewhere between 1/2 and 3/4 of guys end up in a frat. Every house has a good mix of people so that you can find your place anywhere. The school is becoming increasingly strict with frats due to recent hazing incidents, but majority of freshmen parties are frat parties. Freshmen and sophomores are very involved in Greek life and parties, but participation falls for juniors and seniors.

Greek life is very prevelant on campus. TCU is a pretty small school and about 50% rush. Easiest way to have access to parties. Being a southern school sorority rush is taken really seriously. Exhausting process. Need to have a rec to even be considered at some houses but not all. I haven’t really noticed much hazing. The Greek village is brand new as of this year and is absolutely gorgeous. Go greeks!

at tcu, greek life dominates the social scene. I know guys who rushed because unless theyre in a frat, there aren't many options to party or drink. girls can obvi get into parties whether theyre greek or not but if you're not greek and go to a greek party you may feel weird since the whole social system is based around greek life hazing is pretty nonexistent in sororities but it can get intense for frats. heard there was a frat house that kidnapped a pledge once. the school says that 50% of the student population goes greek, but it feels like everyone is greek. it's everywhere and you can't escape it, so it can feel isolating to those who don't go greek greek housing just got redone and soon all frat and sorority chapters will have new housing. tcu has always had amazing facilities and the new greek housing is no exception. beautiful, spacious houses. top houses can be very competitive, but the middle and lower tier sororities still have amazing women and amazing reputations. can't speak to frats, i'm not a guy and didn't pay that much attention to them.

Rush for girls is hella hard, but for guys it’s pretty chill. Basically no hazing for girls, but can’t say the same for the guys. Like half the campus is Greek and the girls are A1 and there are more of them then guys, so fellas get the pick of the lot
