Move APhi below Zeta and AXO after DZ.
Sigma Kappa should be before ASA.

This is the stupidest thing I have read. They have NO sisters and Sigma Kappa is not that strong nationally. They will start at the bottom and work their way up just like everyone else.

Sigma Kappa is about in the middle as far as national strength goes. Their major philanthropy is Alzheimer's and they raise a ton of money for it. SK is easily stronger than AXiD, SDT, AEPhi, Tri Sigma, DPhiE, ASA, Theta Phi, Phi Sig. About on par nationally with AGD, DZ, Gamma Phi.

Sigma Kappa does not compare nationally to DZ or Gamma Phi Beta. Maybe Phi Mu. It's a lot more than number of chapters.

My mom is a mid-level national officer in her sorority. We are in different chapters. Believe me when I tell you that although DZ and Gamma Phi are good chapters here at IU, nationally they are just not that strong. And while Phi Mu and ADPi are not as strong at IU, nationally they are very strong. Just because a chapter is good at IU, it does not equate to national strength.

Yes, many things are considered: fundraising, number of chapters, annual reports, foundation giving, etc.

Theta Phi, DPhiE, and ASA are weaker national organizations, they may never have enough money to back the purchase of a house. Sigma Kappa would and Tri Sigma do have that kind of money. When SK tells PNMs they will have a house in less than 5 years, believe it.

SDT is the smallest national in NPC but they have and support a house.

It's about National standings too

If it's about national standing then move them ahead of AGD, SDT, AEPhi and AXiD. Totally ridiculous.

Let them actually be a chapter first. We've all given DPhiE a break in its first year, how about SK too?

You don't join a sorority because of it's alleged "national standing." You join it because of the sisters in the chapter at your school. Don't promote stupidity.

Here's the problem with this thread - it could encourage pnms to drop in order to join SK with false ideas in their head. First of all, they will be lower tier at the beginning - you don't just get placed head of the pack until you've established yourself on campus - takes at least 4 years, maybe longer. Founders are usually not the best pledge classes. Once a chapter graduates most of those women, you usually get a sense of who the chapter is. Founders will encompass all 4 classes of IU students - and freshman shouldn't think they have any advantage in membership opportunities. They will fill 1/3 of the founding class, which will probably be about 120 women or so. They need to recruit upperclasswomen who have leadership experience and maturity and can't afford to have a majority of the sorority graduate at the same time. Sigma Kappa will do fine, but it's a years long project and they have to earn respect. Want an example? - Look at KD at Purdue. That's a strong national and they are struggling socially at Purdue. They will do fine too - but it takes time. PNMs-don't go through recruitment thinking you can always go SK. If you have an open mind and put in your best effort, you can and will find your chapter.

If we are judging by national size then Chi Omega is by far top tier - no one else can touch them by pure size. Thankfully, National reps don't mean anything on individual campuses. Join the group of women that your heart says to, not perceived reputations & absolutely not what GR tells you. The friendships will last beyond college and what chapter you were in becomes irrelevant.
