Here's the problem with this thread - it could encourage pnms to drop in order to join SK with false ideas in their head. First of all, they will be lower tier at the beginning - you don't just get placed head of the pack until you've established yourself on campus - takes at least 4 years, maybe longer. Founders are usually not the best pledge classes. Once a chapter graduates most of those women, you usually get a sense of who the chapter is. Founders will encompass all 4 classes of IU students - and freshman shouldn't think they have any advantage in membership opportunities. They will fill 1/3 of the founding class, which will probably be about 120 women or so. They need to recruit upperclasswomen who have leadership experience and maturity and can't afford to have a majority of the sorority graduate at the same time. Sigma Kappa will do fine, but it's a years long project and they have to earn respect. Want an example? - Look at KD at Purdue. That's a strong national and they are struggling socially at Purdue. They will do fine too - but it takes time. PNMs-don't go through recruitment thinking you can always go SK. If you have an open mind and put in your best effort, you can and will find your chapter.

If we are judging by national size then Chi Omega is by far top tier - no one else can touch them by pure size. Thankfully, National reps don't mean anything on individual campuses. Join the group of women that your heart says to, not perceived reputations & absolutely not what GR tells you. The friendships will last beyond college and what chapter you were in becomes irrelevant.

This is the stupidest thing I have read. They have NO sisters and Sigma Kappa is not that strong nationally. They will start at the bottom and work their way up just like everyone else.
