Unfortunately, not really. Just because you are a legacy does not mean that you will fit in with that particular house. Nationals require Pi Phi to give one courtesy invite and if you are not a fit they can cut you. I would not take it personally if you are cut there are 21 other sororities to choose from.

That's not true at all. I was a legacy to phi phi my freshman year and got an invite to the first round, but many of my friends who were also Pi phi legacies did not. Pi phi only requires them to Put you at the top of the bid list if you make it to pref, they do not require a courtesy first invite.

USUALLY Pi Phi is required to give a first round courtesy invite. However, because IU is so messed up, IU's chapter has special permission to not have to follow that policy.
If you make it to pref night though and you put them #1, you're going to get a bid from them.

@half right my mom and I looked at the legacy policy together. The only invite nationally required is pref to bid list. The first invite is just a courtesy thing that no chapters have to follow. Most chapters do to be nice but if you don't fit in from the beginning they aren't going to keep you around regardless of what school you're at.

Legacy does not mean anything at Pi Phi. I'm a double legacy and got cut before pref - kept my options open and ended up in an amazing house. Don't narrow your focus during rush and just have fun. Remember, these are the girls who will become your forever friends.
