sigma kappa
by: WonderingAnyone have a mom or aunt that went to IU when Sigma Kappa was here for information on how the chapter was?

It doesn't matter what they were like then, it only matters now. When my aunt was here AEPhi was a really good chapter. not so much now. And Alpha Phi was just an upper middle tier chapter. So who really cares? She was an ADPi and said they were rivals with Sigma Kappa. She also said they didn't close for numbers, their housing board went bankrupt and had to sell the house. There were no unhoused sororities back then. ADPi, AXID, ASA and Tri Sigma lived in Aston with Pi Kappa Phi. (Pi Kapps was lower tier then too, by the way.) AXiD got a house, the one they live in now and ADPI got their house the same year a lot of chapters closed. An unhoused sorority would not have survived on campus, so they closed. In the same school year IU lost AOII, Sigma Kappa, ASA and Tri Sigma all due to the fact that Greek Life just wasn't as popular as it was before. The numbers couldn't support the number of sororities and would never have supported an unhoused chapter at the time.

AOPi closed around the same time and reopened. They're doing pretty well now.
