How to know you had a good convo with a brother?

by: Serious

It’s a serious question, how to know you had a good conversation with a brother . I think this question goes for all the actives , how you finish the conversation with someone who was good vs who you might think isn’t a good fit .

it’s just a vibe. if you feel like the convo was awkward or didn’t flow, the active prob felt the same way. If you thought you hit it off and you were able to make a genuine connection, you will just know it in your gut, if that makes any sense? It’s simple. If they fw you a lot and envision you doing activities with them/fitting in, you will get a bid. If not, no bid. Connections are also pretty important in some fraternities, so sometimes they will prioritize that over random kids even if they have a decent convo.

Partially agree, partially disagree. It's true that to some extent you should be able to tell if you vibe w someone, and if you are vibing w a lot of guys your chances are obviously much better than if you are constantly struggling to keep convos going. But a lot of actives Ik(not an active, rushed this cycle) have said it's just a numbers game, and unless you are going to a lower tier house, or vibe w like every guy you meet. Your chances of getting a bid to any one house are pretty low. They only take like 35-40 guys a PC, and I'll bet you at any given house 15 are going to be filled by kids w connections, sometimes higher. There are certain other exceptions too, bikers always take priority but there's only maybe one per cycle anyway, kids that may not be connected to the frat but have connections to Kelley Workshops and other clubs. You can do the math, but the days of 10 years ago, where you could walk into a frat house knowing nothing and nobody, vibe with the guys and be handed a bid before you leave are gone.
